What is Interior Branding anyway?

Branding is quite possibly the most overused word in modern business – so we can call it interior branding or we can call it environmental branding or hope + bay’s commercial design specialty.

Here we define it as this: where your physical space embodies your company’s culture and values and your clients and employees feel it when they walk in the door.

What could be a more powerful experience for your client or employee than when they open your door and are immersed in your brand?

Think about it like this - when you establish your company you create a website, logo, digital and print marketing, and signage; the list goes on and on. But what about your physical space? You know that place where you woo your ideal client with your skills?  Does that space reflect your company’s culture and values?  Can they feel it when they walk in?

I know it’s been a while since we’ve been anywhere but think about a place where you were not only blown away by the services you received but were blown away buy the space itself too. Think about your local hair salon, your local Mexican restaurant, your doctor’s office - you get the idea.

This type of design is something that often gets ignored and not included in the big picture of running a business and it isn’t reserved only for big corporations either like Starbucks or Apple or Disney World. You, your clients, and your employees deserve it too. Why not use your physical space as a palette or a billboard to tell the world what your company is all about?

Let’s take a look at the benefits of branding your company through interior design.

A thoughtfully branded workspace achieves several goals:

  • It creates a fully encompassing story

  • It not only attracts your ideal client; it attracts your ideal employees

  • It inspires morale and happier employees

  • Your clients are more likely to come back and refer you to their friends and family when they have been part of an experience.

How can interior branding or environmental branding benefit your business?

  • Your unique design sets you apart from your competition

  • It allows your business and branding to quickly and clearly be recognized.

  • By transforming your space through paint, layout, and decor you’ll reinforce your business’ personality.

  • A branded environment would help clients, employees, and management understand what your business stands for. Having everyone on the same page helps drive the mission of your business.

How do we accomplish this you ask? Call us. This is what we LOVE to do. We take that off your plate so that you can focus on where you excel - your business. We start through conversations and information gathering so we understand the core values of your company and develop a plan to maximize your brand and create a unique client experience. We look at things like color, signage, art, plants, materials and finishes, ambiance, lighting, your reception desk, and lobby area and see how (if we need to) improve upon them.

We’ve been busy working with businesses behind the scenes during the pandemic to help transform their space and be ready when it’s time to open.

Now close your eyes take a minute to think about your space. Does its design send a message about who you are as a company and brand? How does it feel? How does it smell? Are you presenting the best version of your brand? Does your space tell your story? If not, let us help you tell it.
