The studio at hope & bay is an AWARD WINNING kids process art studio
Process based art is about freedom not rules. When we practice process art we are more interested in how the art is being created than what the finished product is going to look like.
Process art links strongly to science discovery. You are trying out materials, ideas and feelings, and discovering possibilities.
How does this paint work / change / react?
Why does this happen?
I wonder what would happen if...?
This kind of art is about thinking. Artists work hard, take risks, make connections, daydream, turn old ideas into new ones, look at things closely, notice details, see the big picture, generate ideas, and try new things.
Some skills that we will touch on during our time together: fine motor skills, gross motor skills and coordination, sensory exploration, literacy, math, science, language, art history, creativity and self-expression, art techniques, risk-taking and spatial reasoning.
That all sounds really artsy and fancy but essentially, we're giving the kids a chance to explore, be artists, and realize that there are no mistakes in art just happy accidents!
Family Art Sessions
Looking for an art filled experience that’s all about connection, creativity, expansion and love? Come to the studio for a private hour, creating a large scale canvas you can hang in your home and cherish for a lifetime.
Private Family Art Sessions include 1-1.5 hours in the studio. All art supplies and body smocks are included, in addition to one large stretched canvas.
Pop Ups
Pop ups are currently held at my home studio (outside whenever possible) + are geared for larger groups/age ranges. We’ll have the opportunity to create (2-3) pieces + collaborate.
Pop Ups are offered periodically throughout the year. Click here to see one of our past Pop Ups.
